Melanie Martinez Rejects Plastic Surgery In “Mrs. Potato Head” Music Video: Watch
One more music video for the "Cry Baby" era.
Queen of Visuals Melanie Martinez premiered last night the official music video for "Mrs. Potato Head", a song from her super successful debut studio album "Cry Baby" that she released in stores in the summer of 2015 with the help of Atlantic Records.
With this new video, and if I'm not mistaken, there's only one song left from "Cry Baby" that's yet to receive the music video treatment now; and that's "Mad Hatter". Will that last music video from this amazing Melanie Martinez debut era come before the year's end?
The self-directed music video for "Mrs. Potato Head" shows "baby" Melanie Martinez watching her favorite soap opera for the very last time... because what she'll see in the new episode will leave her SHOCKED forever. A clue: plastic surgery isn't always the way to go.
I found particularly appropriate the explanation of the video this Melanie fan wrote in the comments section of YouTube:
"this video really shows how twisted our society is. it's disturbing how real the concept is. we are all just waiting for that thinner belly, that shinier hair, that smoother skin. high cheekbones. big eyes. soft lips. small hands. delicate feet. we all just want to be beautiful, but what we don't realize is that we already are. we don't need these features to be pretty. everyone is pretty in their own way and having a blonde wig and a facelift isn't going to make you any better?"
