Maroon 5 & SZA Perform "What Lovers Do" Together On "Fallon": Watch
Maroon 5 and SZA delivered the very first joint televised performance of their collaboration “What Lovers Do” (found on Maroon 5’s new album “Red Pill Blues") last night on NBC’s “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon”. With Maroon 5 and SZA each having very busy schedules, we better truly appreciate this performance below. Why? Because it’s most likely the only one or one of the very scarce performances of “What Lovers Do” that we will have with both Maroon 5 and SZA sharing the stage. So, how was it? Good! But this was a given really. Adam Levine and SZA are two pros already and it was expected that they would do good in this performance. Vocals were point, chemistry was just okay (we think Adam didn’t look SZA in the eyes not even once – perhaps he gets “in the zone” when performing live?), but it’s all good. In the end, vocals are what matter. Plus, it was an entertaining performance to watch thanks to SZA’s cute dancing on the stage. While Adam was too stiff, SZA was living it up and feeling the band’s amazing work. By the way, we’re still not sure about this mainstream route SZA has decided to take by collaborating with Maroon 5 (possibly forced by her record label). Hopefully we’ll not be seeing more of this kind of songs from her. Her right stuff is the outstanding R&B music from “Ctrl", don't you agree?
