Mariah Carey Premieres Christian Anthem "The Star": Stream Audio
Mariah Carey has recorded the title track for the soundtrack of the upcoming Christian animated movie “The Star” (in theaters on November 27, soundtrack out on October 27) and today her original song was released as the latest countdown single on digital platforms. Mariah’s “The Star” is a big ballad that actually sounds like her big ballads of over a decade ago. Very classic and very eternal sounding. And her vocals are just superb. We know Mimi’s voice has gone down with the pass of time and that that shows in her live concerts, but it looks like that in a studio environment, she’s able to get that level of comfort that her vocals bloom and sound almost as strong as in her prime days. Because if you compare side to side “The Star” to her old big ballads, and we find almost no differences!
“Follow that star above you / Should the world try to break you down / There is one who waits for you / Though you can't see him now / Thunder and rain surrounds you / But His love's just a breath away”, sings queen of religion Mariah Carey in the chorus of “The Star”. If this doesn’t make you turn to Christianity, then nothing will.
