I don’t know if the general public is going to buy this but we R&B kids are in for a delicious meal with Mariah Carey’s new single “With You”. “With You”and not “GTFO” is going to be the lead single from Mariah’s upcoming new studio album, which is arriving in stores before 2018 ends.
“With You”, produced by DJ Mustard, is a stunning R&B ballad that is giving me 90s, early 2000s vibes and also “Emancipation” era vibes. It’s like “with you” is a cousin of “We Belong Together”. The new Mimi ballad is filled with controlled and beautiful R&B vocals, lyrics about a couple who had doubts about their relationships but who love each other anyway and will stick together no matter what, and a lovely nostalgic production from DJ Mustard.
“With You” has been a good track to wake up to this Thursday morning and I will probably keep replaying it through the day because it has put me in a good mood and this is a mood I’d like to stay for a very long time, lol. Also, I hope it gets cloudy and rainy this weekend because “With You” feels like a perfect soundtrack for that kind of weather.
