Little Mix Go Back In Time With "Joan of Arc": New Song Premiere
Little Mix have released the first countdown single from their upcoming fifth studio album “LM5”. The song released on digital platforms a few hours ago is “Joan of Arc”. And this was the obvious choice for first countdown single as the full track had leaked a few days ago on the Internet.
To put it simply, “Joan of Arc” is superior to “Woman Like Me”. And by the mere fact, you should give it a listen. “Joan of Arc” is another female empowering song, it’s urban-pop, and it gets a little Caribbean-esque just in the middle. But even though I’m liking better than “Woman Like Me”, I’m still a little you could disappointed by Little Mix’s lack of evolution in their sound. They are already in album number five and I still hear sometimes the girls from the first album. So even though “Joan of Arc” is better than the first single, it sounds dated, it sounds like a track that didn't make the cut to Beyoncé’s 2013 surprise album, it sounds generic, and this is exactly my problem with Little Mix. I really would love for them to surprise me with a new sound, a new route for the group, something totally original you know – so imagine my surprise when I heard “Woman Like Me” for the first time and it was more of the same. But oh well, you can bop a little to “Joan of Arc” and I’ll just try to keep it positive.
"LM5" is out November 16.
