The Mike Will Made-It-produced “Energy” is a sexy laidback track that besides being blessed with Tinashe’s out-of-this-world goddess vocals, it also features a rap moment courtesy of Juicy J. “Baby hit me like lightning / Feel my body flowing into me / Gotta feeling inside me / Light me up, you give me energy”, sings our girl Tinashe in the chorus of the newly-premiered “Energy”, one of the many flawless songs “Joyride” will carry.
I was so ready to hate on this track because of what I thought was going to be another dull and predictable Mike Will Made-It production, but I have to keep it honest; the production on “Energy” has been a total pleasant surprise! Mike Will Made-It really got it right this time. This rather minimal yet sexy urban beat is exactly what a song like “Energy” needed. Right on the money.
