Listen To Taylor Swift’s Unique Cover Of Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September"
Can you believe this is coming from the Taylor Swift that not so long ago despised Spotify?
Taylor released today a very unique cover of Earth, Wind & Fire's 1978 hit "September” as part of the Spotify Singles series. Swift’s version was recorded at The Tracking Room in Nashville.
We say this is a ‘unique’ cover because A) Taylor changed the original funk sound of the song to give a warm country-tinged feel and B) because Taylor changed some of the lyrics. She changed the “Do you remember the 21st night of September?” line to “Do you remember the 28th night of September?”
Fans are saying the date in the new lyric may be referring to the anniversary date of her relationship with Joe Alwyn – Taylor Swift’s boyfriend as of this song’s release. What do you think?
Anyhow, whether it’s about her boyfriend or not, this “September” cover is super good. Taylor’s taken us with it to her pre-pop days and we must cherish this! (because as time passes we’re losing hope she’ll ever release again a country album).
