Liam Payne, Emeli Sandé, Jessie J & More Release “Bridge Over Troubled Water” Charity Single Cover For Grenfell Tower Fire Aid: Listen
Several people are still in shock after seeing the horrifying images of the Grenfell Tower fire that occurred last week in London. 79 victims have been so far confirmed.
One of the people who were left in a state of shock was Simon Cowell. And promptly after the tragedy took place, he realized he needed to do something for the families of the victims and the survivors. So the charity single idea was put on the table. He called a few of his friends and contacts in the music industry and he made this happen. The charity single, a cover of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” performed by various artists, mostly British but with a few exceptions (e.g Celine Dion), was released today on all digital platforms. The majority of the proceeds from this charity single will go to The London Community Foundation, which is currently supporting the families of the victims and the survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire.
This cover is nothing but precious and emotional. Emeli Sandé’s vocals were particularly magical.
I’m a tad surprised, though, Simon didn’t manage to get Adele on board this charity single project. She was one of the first artists to go the actual Grenfell Tower fire site to show emotional support to the survivors, and since this “Bridge Over Troubled Water” cover is a music idea, and Adele is a singer, I just thought she would be on it. What could’ve happened?
