Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato & More Slay at 2015 Billboard 'Women In Music' Awards!
Billboard celebrated its 10th Annual ‘Women In Music’ gala last week at Cipriani in New York City, and earlier this weekend, the pre-taped full show aired thanks to Lifetime. In it, we could see the incredible live performances by Lady Gaga, Fifth Harmony, Tori Kelly, Kelsea Ballerini, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. Praise the Lord Lifetime aired this on TV because I was already tired of watching these performances in low quality on YouTube.
Basically this annual ‘Women In Music’ gala by Billboard is an outlet for the popular music magazine to recognize the hard work done by a select group of female singers that for whatever reason left their footprints really deep in the past year. Lady Gaga won “Woman of the Year”, Selena Gomez “Chart-Topper”, Demi Lovato “Rulebreaker”, or Tori Kelly “Breakthrough”, for instance.
Lady Gaga performed at the gala “Till It Happens To You” and oh my god, I swear that if she doesn’t win “Best Original Song” with this at the Oscars next year, the Academy board will have to increase their personal security.
Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Tori Kelly slayed me with their perfect vocal renditions of the songs “Same Old Love”, “Stone Cold”, and “Hollow”, respectively. Meanwhile, “Group of the Year” Fifth Harmony wowed with an acapella performance of “Worth It” and a cover of Destiny’s Child’s “Independent Woman”. And last but not least, country singer Kelsea Ballerini served cuteness with her “Love Me Like You Mean It” performance but sadly confirmed that slicked-back hair doesn’t look good on her.
