JoJo Tributes Selena Quintanilla With Magical “Dreaming of You” Cover In Corpus Christi: Watch
Earlier this week singer JoJo performed a concert in the city of Corpus Christi in Texas, as part of a mini promo tour she’s doing across America in support of her recently-released comeback album “Mad Love.”
Corpus Christi is a city particularly meaningful for one fan base. Whose? Here’s one big clue: Selena Quintanilla. Selena, a megastar and icon in Texas, may have born in Lake Jackson but in March 31st, 1995 Selena’s life was unfairly taken in Corpus Christi, so for better or worse her fans will always have a strong connection to this city, and this was the place where JoJo performed a show this week before a select group of Texan fans. And what was the surprise she had in store for them? The “Too Little Too Late” star decided to cover Selena Quintanilla’s magical ballad “Dreaming of You”. The performance was so amazing in so many ways. The slayage was real, for sure.

JoJo didn’t only make the song her own and provided outstanding vocals, but this was such a beautiful tribute to Selena. You could notice it in the atmosphere in the venue (the Brewster Street Ice House) with ALL THE CROWD singing along. I had goosebumps all throughout the performance. The Selena legacy still lingers!
