Jess Glynne Showcases Cuba And La Habana In “Ain’t Got Far To Go” Music Video: Watch
The best thing that has happened to Britain musically after Adele, Jess Glynne, premiered the music video for her next single “Ain’t Got Far To Go” on YouTube today (Jan. 27). The uplifting soulful pop track is taken from the red-haired singer’s UK #1 debut album “I Cry When I Laugh”.
Directed by Declan Whitebloom (the man who directed one of my favorite music videos ever from Taylor Swift, the “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” video), Jess’ “Ain’t Got Far To Go” video was filmed in the stunning Cuba. The MV shows Ms. Glynne walking the streets of La Habana, playing with underprivileged kids, partying at a cantina, or belting “Ain’t Got Far To Go” proudly next to graffiti of the Cuban flag.
Good to see that the government allowed some Cuban citizens to participate in Jess’ music video shooting. You know that the Cuban secret police doesn’t like locals to interact with foreigners visiting the island, right?
As for the video itself, I loved it. It may have given me strong Solange “Losing You” video vibes, but I didn’t care. I still enjoyed what Jess and Declan Whitebloom shot for us (great setting choice. La Habana is stunning in its very own way). Also, I liked to witness how Jess’ fashion sense is improving as she grows up. She nailed every look in this video. Faaaaab!
