Woman of the moment in the UK, that is Ms. Jess Glynne, was this midday, UK time, on the Clara Amfo-hosted “Live Lounge” show on the BBC 1 to sing two songs in acoustic mode live. Why is this red-haired newcomer so popular already in the country that saw her born? Well, it’s because in less than a year and a half she’s managed to score FIVE #1s!!! *faints*.
Today on “Live Lounge”, the 25-year-old singer first performed her latest single “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself” and later she blessed the BBC Radio 1 listeners with a cover of James Bay’s 2014 breakthrough hit “Let It Go”. At first it was announced that she’d be “only” doing a cover of James’ song so imagine my surprise face when I hear Jess mashing “Let It Go” with Rihanna’s “Umbrella” *faints again*. Oh no, she did not! QUEEN! This was OUTSTANDING! What a voice, what a control, so much much raw emotion!!! And also, what a scary brilliant mind must Jess have for her to have come up with the most perfect song to “blend” with James Bay’s “Let It Go”. Who knew these two songs would sound so great together? They sound like “family” to me now!
