Jennifer Hudson & Jennifer Nettles Sing Oprah's OWN New Anthem, "You Will" [Listen]
It’s the battle of the Jennifers! Dianne Warren has generously written a song for Oprah Winfrey for her to use as the official anthem of her OWN television network. It is a balled titled “You Will”, performed by R&B singer Jennifer Hudson and country singer Jennifer Nettles (ex-Sugarland), and co-produced by The Underdogs and Peter Stengaard. The empowering "You Will" is available on iTunes as of today (March 24) via RCA Records and Mercury Nashville (UMG).
“You Will” is basically a “never say never” kind of song, the empowering message is powerfully conveyed by the vocals of the Jennifers, and although I had my reservations about this duet, being J-Hud and J-Net from different music genres, they sound really great together. I didn’t pick any awkwardness at all. Evidently though, Jennifer Hudson steals the show on "You Will" a bit more as structurally this is bona-fide R&B song.
The Big O Speaks
"I was so touched when Diane Warren came to me and said she wrote a song with OWN in mind," said Oprah Winfrey. "And then to have Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer Nettles bring the song to life with their stunning collaboration... what a gift."
