Watch: Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Usher, Ludacris, & More At So So Def 20th Anniversary Concert
Last night at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Jermaine Dupri pulled out all the stops to make sure the 20th anniversary of his record label So So Def was successful. Not only did he have his former artists like Bow Wow, Kriss Kross, and Anthony Hamilton perform, but he also called upon a few good friends in the likes of Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Usher, Ludacris, and Young Jeezy to hit the stage with him as well. Mariah Carey, who has worked with Jermaine Dupri numerous times in the past, made a surprise appearance at the end of the show when she wheeled out the congratulatory cake onto the stage.
Just when the crowd thought that Jay-Z was only going to perform his 'Money Ain't A Thang' verse, JD made sure to call him back to center-stage for a performance of 'Public Service Announcement', 'N***as In Paris', and an acapella version of his verse on 'Clique'. Usher, who lived in Atlanta for a good part of his early life, also came out to perform a medley of his greatest hits including his hit song 'Yeah' alongside Lil Jon and Ludacris.
Other names who came out to celebrate So So Def's 20th anniversary include Nelly, T-Pain, Monica, Pastor Troy, and former/current artists of Jermaine Dupri's So So Def record label. Safe to say that the anniversary concert was a success. Check out some of the footage below. Photo credit to atlnightspots.
