Iggy Azalea (feat. Rita Ora) - "Black Widow" [Music Video]
Only a month after shooting it in Los Angeles, here is the official music video for “Black Widow”. The Stargate-produced banger is the fifth single from Iggy Azalea’s “The New Classic” and is the Australia rapper’s first collaboration with British recording artist Rita Ora. The Katy Perry co-written hasn’t needed much time to show its ‘smash hit’ potential. Within one month of being radio released in the US, “Black Widow” is already, as of this post, at #15 on Pop radio, while on the Billboard Hot 100 the song is climbing fast, currently sitting at #19!
“Black Widow” music video review
Co-directed by Director X and Iggy, the music video for “Black Widow” is another Iggy visual with a theme. She's really found a liking to themes in music videos. It all started with "Fancy" – do I need to remind you how much success this song brought to her? - and she is making sure to follow the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" saying. “Black Widow” video also gets a theme! The first piece of information we had on the video treatment was unveiled by Rita Ora in an interview: "We're gonna have a very crazy music video, with a lot of other people that you guys may know, playing different characters. I'm really excited about it", said Calvin Harri's ex. “It is going to be amazing; I can’t even tell you what’s going to happen because I am sworn to secrecy. It is going to be major. You’ve seen her video for "Fancy"? She loves a theme and the theme for this one is f***ing genius. All I am saying is I am in training for days for this video."
Rita hyped the video a lot, and the hype was real! WHAT A VIDEO! The final result is incredible. It’s so high-budget, the Kill Bill theme is perfection, and Iggy and Rita’s ability with the Hattori Hanzo katana swords is epic.
Cameos on the video include; actor Michael Madsen who sort of brings back his "Budd" character from the "Kill Bill" movies, and Iggy's mentor T.I.
