Gwen Stefani Announces Las Vegas Residency ‘Gwen Stefani: Just A Girl’, Read Official Statement + Shows Info
The big announcement was supposed to happen on ‘The Ellen Show’ later today but a newspaper just ruined that special moment. The Las Vegas Review Journal published this morning a supposed-to-be-embargoed statement where Gwen Stefani admits to have signed to do a residency spectacle in Las Vegas. Christened “Gwen Stefani: Just A Girl" (uh-huh, as in the title of the No Doubt 1995 hit single), Gwen’s residency will take place at the Zappos Theater at the Planet Hollywood Resort. The residency will initially consist of 25 shows. It all starts in late June, and shows will continue in July, December (including New Year’s Eve), February, and March.
As part of her residency, Stefani will donate $1 of every ticket sold to the Las Vegas Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, which treats children with life-threatening diseases.
And here’s the ‘embargoed’ statement:
“To be able to do a show in Vegas is such an incredible honor. Growing up in Anaheim, California, I could never have imagined one day having my own Vegas residency. I have been so fortunate to tour throughout my career, but to create a show for Vegas is something I’ve never experienced and I can’t wait.”
Ticket information will most likely be released later today.
*Be sure to re-check this post in a few hours when the video of Gwen’s residency announcement on ‘The Ellen Show’ is released.
