G.R.L's First TV Performance of "Ugly Heart" Happens In Australia / They Slay
Instead of commencing the TV promo of their new single “Ugly Heart” in America, Robin Antin's new girl group G.R.L are doing it overseas, to be precise, in the land down under of Australia. The Dr. Luke-produced boy-bashing pop anthem was recently released there and, as of this post, "Ugly Heart" has peaked at #2 on ARIA Singles Chart. G.R.L's new single is also Top 10 in the close country of New Zealand. The girls of G.R.L (signed to Dr. Luke's Kemosabe Records and RCA) have all been doing promo in Australia all this week and this morning (August 14), they performed "Ugly Heart" for the first time on television on "Sunrise". This wasn't only the first TV performance of the song on Australia TV, but on GLOBAL television.
Unlike the Pussycat Dolls, all G.R.L members share the spotlight and all can sing their buts off. The black singer Simone Battle can especially SING. And she’s got a pretty formidable personality as well. G.R.L looked very fashionable even though their performance on “Sunrise” happened at 7:50 am this morning and they probably had to be in the studio at 7. They showed off their vocal talent, cool fashion style and dance moves in the “Ugly Heart” performance (watch below). Really good vocals. I’m impressed! Robin Antin did a fantastic job this time assembling this new group.
"Ugly Heart" is the first single from G.R.L's self-titled debut EP available now on iTunes. The group's Australia stint isn't over yet. Their final appearance will be a live performance on the local "The X Factor" next Monday, August 18.
