George Ezra - "Barcelona" [Music Video Premiere!]
From “Budapest” to “Barcelona”. English singer-songwriter George Ezra has released a new single from his critically acclaimed debut album “Wanted on Voyage” and it’s none other than the heartfelt folk-y ballad “Barcelona”.
George’s last single with a city name as its title (i.e “Budapest”) was a Top 10 hit in half of Europe and it entered the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US. Will “Barcelona” repeat the same success? It could, actually. I like “Budapest” and “Barcelona” quite the same.
Directed by Ben Reed, and just like in the “Budapest” music video which George Ezra did not shoot in the city the song’s title was inspired by, the visual for the new single “Barcelona” sees Mr. George Ezra, in a yellow raincoat, in the middle of what appears to be a tropical jungle singing his emotional ballad. Do not miss his ‘levitation’ moment at the end.
George didn’t actually to go the Amazon rainforest in South America to shoot the “Barcelona” music video. Many fans are pointing out the setting of the clip is the Eden project in Cornwall, England.
Interesting MV... but wouldn’t it have looked more amazing with George walking the streets of the real Barcelona city in Spain and showing us its beautiful landscapes? Oh well. I guess since the song is actually about a person and not a city it wasn’t really necessary. But it would have been very cool!
