Fences (feat. Macklemore) - "Arrows" [Music Video]
Seattle-based band Fences have premiered on YouTube the music video for their Macklemore and Ryan Lewis collaboration “Arrows”, which serves as the lead single from their upcoming second studio album “Lesser Oceans” due in stores on October 14 via Elektra Records / Warner Music. You should be reminded Macklemore and Ryan Lewis – who created the Grammy award-winning album “The Heist” – are also Seattle natives and huge fans of Fences - so making this collaboration possible was no hassle.
The song is well-produced, radio-friendly enough - you know Macklemore's rap is of the liking on mainstream radios - and certainly Macklemore's addition will make it, at least, a semi-hit. Or that I think... I'm surprised to not see “Arrows” on the Top 100 of iTunes. The song needs promotion as soon as possible. A live performance with Macklemore on a big TV show would certainly make the sales of the song to rocket up. Warner Music needs to make that happen!
“Arrows” music video review
Directed by Jason Koenig and John Keatley¸ “Arrows” has one of the weirdest music videos I’ve seen so far this year. Fences’ leader Christopher Mansfield is a man who lives in a cabin in the cold mountains, but for some reason one day he makes the decision to get on a train to go back to the modern city. Accidentally, he is shot an arrow in the chest by an old man who tried to kill a deer looking out from a window in a building in front of his. Then, Macklemore is a circus attraction who performs rap music inside a cage next to tiger. Finally, Macklemore dives from a super high platform and when entering the water, tens of arrows are shot his way with one fatally wounding him and making him a dead man under water. Eh? What was all this? I didn’t get anything. Confusing ‘plot’, but it's a fun music video to watch anyway!
