Fantasia Goes Country With New Single "Ugly": Take A Listen!
Do I have something in my ear or is that Fantasia Barrino singing a country music-inspired song? Wo-ah! Tasia is one eclectic and full of surprises girl, huh?
The (former?) R&B singer premiered her new single "Ugly" by uploading an audio video of it on her VEVO account moments ago (April 6). Written by Audra Mae and Nicolle Galyon, and produced by Ron Fair, "Ugly" will be released on iTunes tomorrow at midnight - right after Fantasia live debuts it on the grand finale of "American Idol".
"Ugly" will be included on Ms. Barrino's forthcoming fifth studio album titled "The Definition Of...", which will arrive in stores "later this year" via RCA Records.
Listen to the new Fantasia single below:
A very powerful song which I'm sure Fantasia will murder live tomorrow on "Idol". For when it comes to expressing emotions in a performance, Fantasia is a pro.
"Ugly" is a country-inspired track where Tasia sings about how materialism and image shaming is an ugly thing by means of telling the story of a young girl who grew up in a hurry. "Give me a rusty old rain silo/ Give me good food that sticks to my bones/ Thank you got that good good man who love me", she sings.
