FAINTS! Brooke Candy Lets A Scorpion Walk On Her Face In “NASTY” Music Video: Watch Now
Attempt #3 for Brooke Candy.
The Californian rapper from Oxnard, who slayed me in 2014 with her flawless music video for her flawless single “Opulence” (which unfortunately didn’t become a hit on the charts), and who earlier this year dropped a song called “Happy Days”, in whose music video Brooke softened her freaky image in order to attract the mainstream audience (but which sadly also failed to connect with the American audience), is kicking off the spring/summer 2016 season with brand new music. Today, June 2nd, Brooke Candy released her new single “Nasty”, which will appear on her forthcoming, long-delayed debut album, reportedly titled “The Daddy Issues”, that will be released via RCA Records later this year. What’s the “Nasty” sound? Brooke’s new single serves pop-meets-jazz-meets-doo-wop vibes in the production with a dash of a rebel spirit and sassiness.
With respect to the music video, Brooke Candy revealed that today too - and she did it via Hunger.tv. Finding itself in an intermediate point between the freaky “Opulence” video and the sweet “Happy Days” video, the “Nasty” visual sees Brooke donning provocative outfits and different hair colors as feels herself up a bit in colorful sets. In some scenes she’s also seen showing off how she’s not scared at all of what regular people would normally drop dead for; Brooke’s seen holding a snake with her hands, or letting a real scorpion walk on her face! (*FAINTS*).
Super loving “Nasty”, a song where Brooke slams a boy who thinks really high of himself but who really is an ass, as it gets stuck in your head easily, it’s anthemic, and I don’t see any reason why this would have a hard time making it to the Top 40 on the charts in the US this summer.
Hopefully third time will be the charm for Brooke Candy. After two unpopular singles, I seriously pray “Nasty” finally opens the doors to becoming a hit artist for Brooke. She’s super talented and she deserved this! My fear is, though, that if “Nasty” doesn’t work out either, RCA will lose its patient and will let her go. FINGERS CROSSED!!!
