Emily Warren Steps Into The Spotlight With PERFECT Debut Single “Hurt By You”: Listen Now!
Emily Warren is one of the hottest songwriters out there now. What has she written? Let’s see: “No Lie” by Sean Paul and Dua Lipa, “No More Sad Songs” by Little Mix, “Capsize” by Frenship, The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down” and she’s also the uncredited female vocalist in The Chainsmokers’ “Paris” smash hit. So yeah, in some way, you’re already familiar with Emily Warren. She’s now launching her solo career as a lead singer, though! She’s doing so independently but that does not mean the quality isn’t any less good.
“Hurt By You” is Emily’s debut single and it’s a stunning song. I heard it from start to finish the first time, and I immediately knew it was a song I’d be replaying a lot for a long time. It sticks with you on the first listen, Emily’s vulnerable vocals are too adorable, the lyrics of the song are kind of harsh to take in (for it talks about a girl in a relationship where she’s clearly not being valued but anyhow she’s fighting to remain with that guy) but it could a true story, and the production behind is also quite nice: it may have a dop-wop, jazzy-pop sound but it feels very current too. I see no issue with Z100 or KIIS FM playing this.
Emily has a winner here and I hope she gets the opportunity to perform “Hurt By You” somewhere on TV. I feel like if this song gets a real shot, it could be huge!
