Ellie Goulding Talks Sound Of New Album, Reveals Song Titles & Producers List On 'Q' Magazine!
A new Ellie Goulding interview can be found in the latest issue of "Q" magazine and the English singer-songwriter discusses her upcoming third studio album in it. The much-anticipated project, and follow-up to 2012's "Halcyon", is CONFIRMED for release in November this year via Interscope Records.
The first single of the yet-untitled album was announced at the iHeartRadio Summit earlier this month. It's called "On My Mind" and Ellie Goulding fans will be able to hear it "very soon".
In the "Q Magazine" interview (see scans of Ellie's feature above), the "Starry Eyed" star names the producers that have helped her in this new album, reveals a few song titles - giving brief descriptions of each - and discloses the sound of the "Halcyon" follow-up and its ultimate "message". Read the headlines below:
- "Move" is "a disco floorfiller", "Kate Bush meets Michael Jackson".
- "On My Mind" is a "guitar led, Swiftian tale of a drunken hook up with a tattooed admirer" inspired by a time when she was "on tour, drinking too much and going off the rails".
Producers list: Greg Kurstin, Max Martin, Ryan Tedder, Jim Eliot, Disclosure, Joel Little, Laleh Pourkarim
About the new album's theme, Ellie said: "I want to make songs that people believe in , to be the soundtrack to someone's something. "Come up with more political lyrics about social causes.... homelessness, animal rights and global warming".
With respect to the sound of her next album, EG said: "it's big pop record" with "some big Pop anthems for a lot of people to hear, and some are me and Greg [Kurstin] messing around".
