Ellie Goulding Slays Kodaline's "All I Want" & "Flashlight" Acoustically on BBC "Live Lounge"
Oh my Ellie! The needs-a-Grammy-already British singer helped DJ Fresh during his appearance on BBC Radio 1's "Live Lounge" on Friday midday (Sept. 26). He was there promote his upcoming single "Flashlight" which is out in the UK officially on October 5th. "Flashlight" features Ellie Goulding so it was pretty much a MUST that Ellie would be on this "Live Lounge" episode. She also helped DJ Fresh doing the "mystery cover".
First the LIVE "Flashlight" performance: oh my! Ellie sounded exactly as in the studio version. Those ethereal vocals of her are truly a gift sent from heaven above to human kind. By the way, yes, "Flashlight" is originally an Ellie Goulding song featured on her "Halcyon Days" album, but DJ Fresh has re-worked the song - adding more drum & bass beats - and is releasing it as the fourth single from his upcoming new album (clever).
As for DJ Fresh and Ellie Goulding's must-do "mystery cover" on the "Live Lounge" today, they chose to do Kodaline's "All I Want". Well, Ellie chose to do. She already released a studio version of this cover time ago but this is the first time she's performing it live. DJ Fresh helped Ellie playing a few instruments, while Ellie totally slayed our souls with her voice. I'm...just...blown away. She actually just bested the studio version.Good Lord! This live acoustic performance is just...I can't find no words to describe it. Just hear it!!
