DNCE, Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Puth & Silentó Perform at 2016 Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards [VIDEO]
Over the weekend the 2016 Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards were held at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
This year’s ceremony, where once again the best representatives in the television, movies, and music fields of the previous year are honored with the votes of teen fans, was hosted by country music singer Blake Shelton.
As every year, besides giving awards and throwing green slime all over the poor presenters and winners on stage, there was time for some live music in the form of guest performers. At the Nickelodeon's 29th Annual Kids' Choice Awards this past weekend the performers were: Silentó, Wiz Khalifa with Charlie Puth and DNCE.
I wonder, was there no budget this year to invite a little bit more “relevant” performers? I guess not! OK, DNCE were fine because the Joe Jonas-led band still have a “current” hit with “Cake by the Ocean”, but what about Wiz and Silentó? If they had performed new singles, everything would have been okay, but performing “See You Again” and “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" for the trillionth time on television!? Really? It was a bit annoying in my opinion, but little kids in the audience seemed to love it despite it all.
The two major music awards of the night, “Favorite Song of the Year” and “Favorite New Artist”, went to Adele and Shawn Mendes, respectively.
