Diplo Shades Taylor Swift's Music: "LWYMMD" Not Relatable
Do not expect a collaboration between Major Lazer and Taylor Swift to happen any time soon. Why? Because Diplo has shaded Taylor again. First she skinny-shamed in 2014 when she tweeted “Someone should make a kickstarter to get taylor swift a booty” and now she’s shading her music. Diplo recently did an interview for Rolling Stone and one of his quotes say:
“Music is in the hands of the kids. Streaming is literally what kids want to listen to over and over again. They want to listen to ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Bodak Yellow.’ They don't want to listen to, like, ‘Look What You Made Me Do,’” he said when asked about the effects of music streaming. “That music doesn't relate to them at all. I don't think it ever did. They were only given that by radio and marketing budgets. I'm impressed with Post Malone. I can relate to him more than Taylor Swift.”
Say what? He’s so wrong. We didn’t become obsessed with “Look What You Made Me Do” because we overheard on the radio nor because we were “forced” to do it because of an ad. We merely did it because we are Taylor fans and we because we got obsessed with the song on the first listen. Plus, you know what, Diplo? Here’s a reminder: "Look What You Made Me Do" broke Adele's record for most-streamed debut week by a female artist!!!
“Swifties”, aka. Taylor’s fans, are currently calling the hell out of Diplo on his social media accounts. And some of the stuff they’re saying are not very pretty. Deserved? In any case, Diplo just responded to the “hate” with the following tweet:
calm down swifties "all too well" is one of my fav songs https://t.co/yV05kBWaQZ
