Dido Returns With A Magical Song of 5 Minutes, “Hurricanes” / Announces World Tour Too
Go ahead and pinch yourself because it’s true. Dido is back.
The British singer announced today that her much-anticipated fifth studio album (the follow-up to 2013’s “Girl Who Got Away”) entitled “Still On My Mind” will be released on March 8, 2019. Yes, there’s a long way to go till release day but worry not because Dido premiered this morning a song from the upcoming album. “Hurricanes” is 5 minutes long and it’s glorious. It’s giving me some The XX vibes and I’m living for it. By the way, I was going to refer to this song as the lead single but look at how Dido referred to it in the tweet below.
I have news! My new album, Still On My Mind, is out March 8th next year - and you can stream / download one song, Hurricanes, now. PLUS I’m going on tour for the first time in 15 years!! Can’t wait. Get all the info at https://t.co/MnW6e4mfdJ x pic.twitter.com/qrdaXI48Bu

“One song”. This title she’s giving “Hurricanes” doesn’t scream lead single to me. But I guess if she gives the song a music video then all doubts will dissipate. Hopefully she clarifies this soon. I mean, I’m all up for ‘quality’ music but wouldn’t it be exciting to see Dido up on the top of the charts, again? And for that she means that song that works well on radio. But no pressure! Give me more songs like “Hurricanes” and I’ll be happy too. And my happiness is bigger today because she also announced a new tour (European and North American legs).
Are you loving “Hurricanes”?
