Confirmed: Taylor Swift To Debut New Single on August 18th via Yahoo! Live Stream
It is official. Taylor Swift will be debuting her brand new single and announcing details of her forthcoming fifth studio album during a Yahoo! Screen worldwide live stream with fans on Monday, August 18th at 5 p.m (ET). This is JUST like the kick-off promotion of album “Red” in 2012. Also in a month of August, Taylor held a live chat with fans via YouTube during which she played the then-first single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" for the first time. That single was immediately released on Google Play, while hitting iTunes and Amazon in the subsequent day. Can we expect the same for next week's Yahoo! Screen live stream? I very think so! So exciting!
During the last days, country music star Taylor Swift has been teasing fans with “clues”. The first one was a video posted on Instagram where we could see Taylor pressing the "18" button of an elevator. The second clue was an iPhone screen capture with the time frozen at exactly 5:00pm. The third and last clue was a computer screen capture of Taylor making a Yahoo! search. (See below)
In the morning of Monday, August 11, Taylor took to her social accounts to announce the August 18th Yahoo! Screen worldwide live stream. Her official website has also been updated with news about the event, and a countdown clock. Are you ready? Because I'm so ready! I wonder very much, though, if Taylor will stick to the poppy country sound she debuted in "Red", which was the first Taylor Swift album Nathan Chapman didn't executive produce. New producers such as Max Martin came on board for that 2012 LP.
Ready?
What to expect? Let's go back to 2012 then!
