Confirmed: Black Eyed Peas’ New Manager Is Scooter Braun! Good Move?
Go Scooter Braun. Justin Bieber’s manager is now the manager of the Black Eyed Peas. Confirmation came yesterday, July 8th, when the band’s BEP logo appeared on the management section of Scooter’s official website. The hip-hop group will still be working with Instercope Records in terms of music release but Scooter Braun will now manage everything related to their day-to-day activities.
I personally don’t think Scooter is really deserving of all this attention, as the only reason he is kind of ‘popular’ in the business is because he got lucky with Justin Bieber becoming a worldwide phenomenon (little girls just fell in love with him, and Scooter really didn’t have to do a lot), and certainly managing a huge group like the Black Eyed Peas is strikes as ‘a little too much’ to me. But hey, Scooter does get a lot of promo gigs for their managed artists so it may not all be entirely bad. Just one warning: Please Scooter, keep Will.i.am away from Ariana Grande. I don’t want him anything to do with her next album. Just look at what he did with Britney’s career.
Oh, and does this also mean that Will and Fergie’s solo careers are now managed by Scooter too? This is yet a mystery!
And finally, this management change doesn’t really come as much as a surprise to me as the Black Eyed Peas and Scooter Braun did look a little too cozy and amicable at Coachella festival earlier this year. Remember BEP did a surprise performance during David Guetta’s set? Backstage BEP took a lot of happy photos with Scooter. I’m sure they had already signed the papers around that time. It all fits now.
And the Scooter Braun reign just won’t let up. He keeps getting lucky. Justin, Ariana and now the Black Eyed Peas. Who will be next?
