Ciara Hits One Bizarre Soundless Note In National Anthem Performance at NCAA National Championship Game: Must-See!
Ciara caused quite the controversy last night (Jan. 11) on Twitter when fans and haters clashed in their reviews of her performance of the US national anthem at the 2016 College Football Playoff national championship game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Clemson Tigers - which was held at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Ciara hit the center of stadium, looking really beautiful in a sparkly white gown with a matching cape, and sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” the best she could before over 60,000 people. The result? Let’s the get the obvious out of the way first; Ciara is a great performer and a great dancer, but she’s not the greatest singer. She has limited capabilities and when it comes to the US national anthem and singing it live in a stadium, she knows she has to resort to some tactics to pull off a decent outcome. For instance, last summer she used back-up singers when doing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at an MLB game. Although it looked weird, because who the hell uses back up singers to perform the national anthem of the United States of America in a major event, I believe it was a clever move by Ciara because evidently she knew she was unable to pull through with a song like that one live without help – moreover knowing she just couldn’t make one tiny mistake. However, at last night’s gig in Glendale, Arizona, Ciara looked more beautiful than ever but forgot to bring something along with her to the field. What was it? Her back-up singers! Ciara decided to tackle the oh-so-difficult national anthem of the US alone without any kind of assistance. It was all live. And baby, the result wasn’t very good. I mean, overall I’m not going to say Ciara’s performance was a disaster, because it wasn’t, but she did sound a bit too flat. And that moment when she tried to hit the high note during the “O'er the land of the free” lyric I am never ever going to be able to get out of my mind. What the heck was that? She tried to hit “free” like a pro but there was nothing coming out of her mouth…! LOL. I am, as of this post, replaying this very moment for the 1000th time already. It’s just too good and laugh-worthy.
Ciara should’ve brought out the back-up singers for this performance too. Now she’s given people enough exposure meat to trash her all they want about her limited vocals. CiCi looked very amateur last night and I don’t think this is going to help her already-hurt career (her last album “Jackie” flopped hard). Ciara needs to take a sabbatical and start working on getting another “Body Party”. Oh, and forget about doing more national anthem stadium performances too. She’s just not capable.
