Christine And The Queens Arrive Into The U.S: Watch The “Tilted” Performance On ‘Jimmy Fallon’
French queen Héloïse Letissier, who goes by the stage name of ‘Christine and the Queens’, is finally in the United States of America. After conquering Europe with her music, America was evidently going to be her next target.
Christine and the Queens kicked off earlier this week a mini North American tour, which will conclude in the coming days before she returns to the Old Continent. However, before saying bye-bye to US soil, Héloïse wanted to do something that she will forever cherish in her career: a performance debut on American television. She did that this past Thursday (Oct. 13) on none other than NBC’s “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon”.
At the late-night talk show, Christine and the Queens performed the English version of “Christine”, “Tilted”, one of my favorite songs from the album “Chaleur Humaine”.
Not the biggest fan of the English version of this little musical gem but I understand it was Héloïse’s only choice if she wanted to get into the English-speaking markets. Oh well.
Her performance on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” was spectacular, though. Héloïse slayed the “Christine/Tilted” iconic choreography and the resounding clapping by the studio audience once the performance was over made evident that a new star had been born for the American audience.
No doubt we will be seeing more of Christine and the Queens in the US when they release their next album next year and they get to perform more English versions of their songs at televised shows. Or, it might be that talented Héloïse finds the inspiration and time to write a couple of songs in English from scratch.
