Childish Gambino's New Songs "Summertime Magic" & "Feels Like Summer" Are Nothing Like "This Is America": Listen Now!
Childish Gambino surprised everybody when he unexpectedly released two brand new songs, “Summertime Magic” and “Feels Like Summer”, on digital platforms earlier this week. The songs were released in an EP/bundle kind of way dubbed “Summer Pack”. These two tracks are so different to “This is America” and there’s no word yet if Childish Gambino, aka Donald Glover, is gearing up to release a new studio album or not. His last one was 2016’s “Awaken, My Love!". I mean, with all this new music, there should be a new album on the way, right? Or is he just going to give us one-off singles in 2018? Ahhh! The mystery is killing me!
If you were expecting to hear something similar to “This is America”, then snap out of that dream right now. “Summertime Magic” and “Feels Like Summer” are so different. They’re more “retro”, more R&B, and even have a little bit of a pop sensibility. “Summertime Magic” is a mini banger while “Feels Like Summer” is a complete slow jam. The quality of both songs are great production and lyrics-wise and OMG at Childish Gambino’s singing vocals. He’s got them and he flaunts them in these two new songs. So good!
