Cheryl Gets Shady On Girls Aloud 15th Anniversary: "These 2 Are My Best Friends"
Today, November 30th, 2018, marks the 15th anniversary of the creation of Girls Aloud, one of the most popular girl bands ever in UK history. The group is now officially disbanded but the former members wanted to express their excitement on social media about this special date with public letters. However, not all 5 members have said something. As of this post, only 3 have taken to social media to say something about the 15th anniversary specifically. The 3 that have written something are Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Wash. Nonetheless, out of the 3 letters to the fans the one that caught the most attention was Cheryl’s, aka the most popular Girls Aloud singer today and Liam Payne’s baby mother. And all the attention didn’t exactly come from “kind” things she said in the words she posted today. For even though Cheryl mentioned how incredibly excited she was about this special occasion, what transcended the most from her letter was the “shady” vibe she sent towards other members Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding (exactly the two members who as of this post have said nothing of the anniversary on social media). What did she say? Read Cheryl’s letter below:
“Sitting here drinking coffee with these two ? and watching babies 15 years later !!! Crazy how time flies...
15 years ago today some of the best, craziest years of my life were just beginning. I had no idea what a life journey I was starting out on. We had some of the most amazing times of our lives and made some incredible pop moments to put the cherry on top.. In the end I left with these two amazing, inspiring gorgeous souls and the best friends anyone could ever ask for. You blessed me and I will never be able to thank you enough for the support, love and loyalty you brought to our group. I am so proud of what we achieved together. Love you all @lilcola @kimberleywalshofficial @nadinecoyle @sarahnicoleharding
Thank you #Girlsaloud15”
Cheryl accompanied the letter with the main photo at the top of this blog entry on her Instagram post this Thursday morning. Even though she tagged Nadine and Sarah at the end of her letter and said she was “proud” of the collective work of the entire band, for some reason she wanted to make clear to her fans who her true friends from the group were and still are: Nicole and Kimberley. It’s with them who she shares the posted photo above with and it’s them who Cheryl calls “gorgeous souls” and “best friends”. Shady? Undoubtedly. Cheryl surely knew these words would hurt Nadine and Sarah, and that the letter would be analyzed in detail by her fans, and despite it all Cheryl posted the letter exactly how she wanted it. She could have simply posted a photo of the full group together and have written a thank you letter to the fans and the girls in general, but no, she wanted to entire the drama scene by mentioning her true friends of the group, reinforcing fans’ curiosity to find out what the nasty problem with the other two girls (were they mean divas? etc…) was, and strategically leaving the mentioning of her two non-friends Nadine and Sarah to the last line of extensive letter. Evidently Cheryl is still bitter about what happened. But did she need to be shady today? Do you imagine Beyoncé celebrating an anniversary of Destiny's Child and only posting a photo of her with Kelly on Instagram mentioning only her as her best friend and just tagging @michellewilliams at the bottom of her letter? Know what we mean?
