Carrie Underwood Slays “American Idol” 2018 With “See You Again, “Cry Pretty” Performances!
Carrie Underwood was a special mentor and a guest performer on last night's episode of "American Idol" (May 13). The contestants had to sing Carrie Underwood songs plus songs dedicated to their mothers.
In the opening group performance, all the remaining "Idol" Season 16 contestants performed with Carrie her 2013 hit "See You Again" (off the "Blown Away" album).
Later, Carrie would return on stage to perform, this time all by herself, her newest single "Cry Pretty", the title track from her forthcoming sixth studio album (out September 14th). And yes, she completely slayed. Her live vocals in the climax/ending part of "Cry Pretty" just give me goosebumps every damn time. "Cry Pretty" is such a difficult song to sing but Carrie does it so effortlessly. She took me to church, y'all.
