Calvin Harris (ft. HAIM) - "Pray To God" [Music Video Premiere!]
Calvin Harris is releasing a new single from “Motion” and it is the HAIM-assisted “Pray to God”. The dance-pop song is co-written by the Haim sisters and Ariel Rechtshaid and it beats the fan-favorite “Together” (featuring Gwen Stefani) to be the newest single from the Scottish DJ’s fourth studio album.
Calvin had already released all of the songs from “Motion” featuring “high profile” artists as singles and the only one missing was the Gwen Stefani-assisted “Together” so it really comes as a shocker that he would pick the HAIM-assisted to be the follow-up to “Open Wide” (featuring Big Sean) – whose music video premiered not long ago. Gwen Stefani is definitely more relevant than HAIM so I think the most intelligent choice would have been releasing the catchy and radio-friendly “Together” next. But perhaps the decision of not releasing their collaboration as single right now was made by Gwen might prefer to stay away from the spotlight for a bit until she finalizes her new solo album.
Anyhow, the HAIM collaboration “Pray to God” is also quite good, it would have been my first choice for “Motion” single when it was time to release the songs featuring the “lesser” artists, and the music video is EVERYTHING.
