The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes & More Perform at 2016 MTV EMAs: Watch Full Videos!
The 2016 edition of the MTV Europe Music Awards, aka the MTV EMAs, was held in the city of Rotterman, in the Netherlands, last night (Nov. 6). At the Bebe Rexha-hosted ceremony, the big winners of the night were all Canadian. Justin Bieber won “Best Song” for “Sorry”, and The Weeknd won “Best Video” for “Starboy”.
With respect to the live performers, some of the names included Bruno Mars, DNCE, Shawn Mendes, Zara Larsson, Green Day, The Weeknd, Kings of Leon, Bebe Rexha, Lukas Graham, or OneRepublic.
Bruno Mars opened the 2016 MTV EMAs with his new hit “24K Magic” and I think it was a brilliant decision to give him that opening spot because that song put everybody immediately in a good mood and so everybody could enjoy the show in a happier spirit. And about who closed last night’s MTV EMAs… it was none other than rock band Green Day. A bit unexpected, huh? But wait till I tell you with which song they wrapped up their mini-concert and the whole awards too: “American Idiot”. I kid you not! Is it 2004? Let me check my calendar… hell no! But wait… maybe this was some sort of conspiracy between Green Day and the MTV EMAs organizers to throw a little dagger in the air to let the whole world know that America would be an “idiot” if the people out there votes for Donald Trump this Tuesday? Don’t buy it? What if tell you Billie Joe changed a lyric to “The subliminal mind Trump America”? - lol. I rest my case.
