Britney Spears Cancels “Domination” Residency: THIS Is The Reason…

Terrible news for this Britney Spears fans in this post.

The pop princess has CANCELLED her new "Domination" Las Vegas residency. "I won't be performing it", she says in her public statement. The reason? Because of the health of Britney's father. She's only only cancelling her new residency, which was all-ready to begin next month, she's putting her entire career in hiatus. She's going to focus solely on her family in this difficult period of her life. Her dad almost DIED to months ago and Britney, feeling sad for all of the fans that she was going to disappoint, took this decision to cancel "Domination" and be by her father's side during the long recovery ahead of him.

The Huffington Post reports:

Jamie Spears became “seriously ill” two months ago and was rushed to a Vegas hospital.

The press release announcing the residency’s postponement states that his “colon spontaneously ruptured and he was immediately admitted into surgery”.

The 66-year-old then spent 28 days in the hospital and after a “long, complicated post-operative period”.

The spokesperson added: “He is recuperating at home and gaining strength, and is expected to make a full recovery”.

That sounds scary. Maybe the actual condition is even more critical than they want to let us know? Hence Britney's rushed decision? Because this happened two months ago and two months ago she could have already cancelled. Maybe the recovery is going to be very difficult or the father's condition is very worrying?

I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand. More information on ticket refunds is available on britneyspears.com. I know fans that had already purchased tickets, flights and hotels must feel really upset right now but if they are true Britney Spears fans they will understand the cause of the situation.

Also, please don't listen to haters saying this decision was an EXCUSE to cancel the residency because of "poor sales". For instance, kick-off show was 60% sold, but Britney still had one month for promotion and tickets for all Las Vegas shows almost always sell out THE SAME DAY due to tourists buying last minute, that's how things work in that city. Ticket sales were fine for a second residency. And event in Britney's first residency, not all shows were sold out.
