Ben Haenow & Kelly Clarkson - "Second Hand Heart" [Music Video Premiere!]
“X Factor” and “American Idol” merged together. Loves it!
Ben Haenow, winner of season eleven of “The X Factor UK”, and Kelly Clarkson, winner of season one of “American Idol”, join their voices in “Second Hand Heart”, the debut single of Haenow and the first official offering from the British singer’s forthcoming yet-untitled debut album that is due in stores in November this year. “Second Hand Heart” was released on iTunes last week, and, in general, critics/blogs on the Internet have positively welcomed it. Ben and Kelly’s collaboration is a JAM, it’s kind of an upgraded version of the song Olly Murs and Demi Lovato released months ago, it’s cool indie-pop, the chorus is everything, and although “Second Hand Heart” is Ben’s song, it’s Kelly Clarkson the one that really turns it into a bona-fide “hit”.
The James Lees-directed music video premiered today (Oct. 20) on VEVO and it’s cute. Could’ve been better, but it’s OK and cute. Did Ben and Kelly really shoot this together, though? The ending scene in theory clarifies this point but I’m feeling the girl opening the door, who we only from behind, is a body double of Kelly.
The video’s theme shows Ben ending his work shift early in the barn to reunite with his love. It’ll be a long, long, loooooong way home. Sucked that after much anticipation for the lovers’ reunion the director didn’t feel like at least give us a kiss on the cheek –body double confirmed?
