Australia Calling: Guy Sebastian & Dami In Perform New Singles On ‘X Factor’, Debut Music Videos
I truly became a fan of these two Australian singers, Guy Sebastian and Dami Im, when they performed on Eurovision in 2015 and 2016, respectively, and I’ve followed their careers ever since.
Last month both artists released new singles. Guy Sebastian released one called “Set in Stone” on October 28th, and Dami Im released a single called “Fighting For Love” on October 21st. Guy’s new single will appear on his forthcoming ninth studio album and Dami’s will appear on her forthcoming fourth studio album. By the way, Dami Im’s new single isn’t a cover of the Cheryl Cole hit of similar name. Just saying!
Last night (Nov. 7) both singers thought of the same promotional strategy. The both performed their new singles on “The X Factor Australia”, and immediately after the show, they debuted their new music videos on YouTube. They’re both signed to Sony Music Australia so I guess this is the reason why of such a coincidence!
With respect to the music videos, in Guy Sebastian’s “Set In Stone” we can see the singer crossing a desert on foot as he belts his pop ballad, and in Dami Im’s “Fighting For Love” we can see the Australian diva serving high-fashion poses as she sings her dance track at the top of her lungs.
As far as their performances on “The X Factor Australia” last night, Dami Im looked stunning as she performed “Fighting For Love” live, sort of recreating the music video on stage, and Guy Sebastian beautifully sang the emotional “Set in Stone” live while playing the piano. Vocals were amazing and he looked fine!
