Ashlee Simpson Back In Music With New Song "I DO" And I Do Love It: Stream
I literally teared up a little bit as I was giving this song a first listen a few minutes ago. It’s the new Ashlee Simpson song called “I Do”. Actually, it’s a collaboration with her husband Evan Ross – as in Diana Ross’ son – but honestly I clicked play on this song only because of Ashlee. But Evan sings pretty nicely too. He definitely has those Ross singing genes.
Ashlee and Evan are the stars of the new E! reality series titled “Ashlee and Evan” (lol – did you think it was going to be called differently?) and this song “I Do” was created because of this TV project to serve as a sort of soundtrack. Will there be more songs as more episodes air? Fingers crossed. And if the series is a hit and the music is a hit, no doubt Ashlee and Evan will officially launch a duet career and an album will be in the works. So exciting!
Back to reviewing the actual song, it’s very beautiful. It’s organic, acoustic, Evan is a talented singer, listening to Ashlee’s vocals moved me so deeply reminiscing those early 2000s years when I was at high school listening to her “Autobiography” and “I Am Me” records, the lyrics are romantic, the melody is soothing, and I will definitely be putting my lighter up when I see Ashlee and Evan perform this song live.
