Aretha Franklin Covers Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" - Listen Now!
Long live the Queen! Aretha Franklin will be releasing a new covers album titled "Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics" on October 21st via RCA Records and one of the classics she's covered is Adele's monster hit "Rolling in the Deep" from "21".
The day has finally arrived. From the second "Rolling in the Deep" became a chart-topping hit three years ago I think everyone immediately imagined other soul divas singing it - the way "Rolling in the Deep" is vocally constructed was perfect for 'divalicious' covers. And I'm sure many hoped for an Aretha Franklin cover. Unfortunately, she was very busy doing other stuff and never released a cover video on YouTube for us (although knowing her I'm convinced she's a huge fan of Adele and this song). However, the day has finally arrived. Aretha recently returned to the studio - thanks to Clive Davis - and will be dropping this new covers album very soon.
Just finished hearing Aretha's cover of "Rolling in the Deep" and it is everything I imagined. The Queen may be getting older and but she still has some powerful vocals. The way she SLAYED the bridge was bow-worthy.
