Anastacia - "Staring at the Sun" [Music Video]
Now you don’t see this kind of music videos very often, do you? Watch people turn into foxes in the magical forest of Anastacia's new video for "Staring at the Sun", the second single from the pop diva's sixth album "Resurrection".
Written and produced by Sam Watters (Jessica Simpson’s “I Wanna Love You Forever”, Fantasia's "When I See You"), is a pop mid-tempo about heartbreak. “You’re like spring turned into winter / With you there’s no in-between”, “I used to think that You could be the one”, “But loving you is just like staring at the sun / If you look too long it'll leave you blind”. These are three lyric quotes that will make you understand the story of the song. And just add to these lyrics Anastacia's powerhouse vocals and...BOOM! You have a hit in your hands.
"Staring at the Sun" music video
A beautiful blonde girl wanders in a forest to find a hunter and his hound dog standing next to a presumed dead man, who seems to have been the girl's lover in the past. Since she still cares about him, she runs to see what's happened, and thinking he’s dead, she takes an amulet he’s carrying in his hand and turns into a small fox and runs away. The hound follows the fox, as the man shoots an atypical kind of bullet who injures the girl a few miles away. When the hunter is about to execute the pretty lady, the 'presumed dead' man makes his return (he was just badly injured...) and shoots the man down, and saves the girl. The end. Sweet story… but not sure if it makes total sense with the lyrics of "Staring at the Sun". Whatever the case, I liked watching it. Anastacia has little appearance in the music video, but she is there: singing in the middle of a pink mist.
