Alessia Cara SLAYS Hit Debut Single “Here” LIVE on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon”: Must-Watch!
I have the feeling newcomer Alessia Cara is going to give Def Jam a lot of joy in the coming years. For instance, I’m totally sure her debut single “Here” will be nominated for “Song of the Year” and “Record of the Year” at next year’s Grammy Awards and that Alessia will be a nominee in the “Best New Artist” category too. I truly don’t need my crystal ball to see this future.
19-year-old Canadian ‘modern’ R&B songstress Alessia Cara was discovered by Universal’s Def Jam this year and she’s one those artists that you know will have an amazing and very long career blessed with many recognitions. Alessia’s singing talent and songwriting abilities are just incredible for her young age. Her song “Here” has been critically-praised by a large list of music websites, magazines and bloggers, it’s been included in God knows how many “editor’s picks” playlists, and now it’s slaying radio and charts.
Alessia has promoted “Here” intensively at festivals and small shows but yet major television performances were still on her to-do list… until last night. The pint-sized Canadian chanteuse stopped by “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday night (July 29) to make her US television debut. She performed, sorry, SLAYED, “Here” and sounded exactly like the studio recording – and you know not many can do this. It was so formidable that the crowd could not do anything but give it up to her for a long while. Jimmy even brought Alessia a little closer to the audience area so she could better appreciate all the applauding.
Cara's debut EP "Four Pink Walls" is released August 28th!
