Zara Larsson & MNEK Perform US Hit “Never Forget You” On “Ellen”: Watch!
Who could have imagined that Zara Larsson and MNEK’s innocent collaboration “Never Forget You” would become such a smash in the US? The UK garage/house song peaked at #5 in England, and I think everybody believed that the single would die there, but little did we know that Epic Records (Zara’s label in the US) had other plans. The L.A Reid-led label saw potential in “Never Forget You”, thinking it could be liked by the US audience, and you know what? Their risky decision paid off! “Never Forget You” is, as of this post, at #7 on iTunes USA and it just entered the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. HUGE!
And what better way to reward Zara and MNEK for this astonish accomplishment than making them perform on one of America’s most popular TV shows! Epic Records paid big money for them to get the chance to perform “Never Forget You” on “The Ellen Show”. Watch their performance on yesterday’s “Ellen” episode below!
Vocals, vocals, and vocals! Vocals for days, literally.
Both Zara and MNEK sounded so good on “Ellen” yesterday - although it’s true MNEK was the one that shined a bit more in the vocal department (my god, that control!). Really loved how energetic the performance felt too.
Two tiny critiques, though: 1) Totally understand Zara gets super hyped by the song but she should really take a look at the super weird dance moves she does sometimes, and she should also have controlled better the timing of her interaction moment with the crowd. MNEK had already begun singing and she was still with the crowd!, and 2) Love MNEK but what was that pajamas-like outfit? This was “Ellen”!
