Video: Shakira & Blake Shelton Perform Lady Antebellum's 'Need You Now' on The Voice
It was night two of the live playoffs of Season 4 of 'The Voice USA' on May 7, it was performance night for both Shakira and Blake Shelton's teams, and it was the night we saw the Colombia-born global pop sensation and the country music star performing their first duet together. They chose to sing Lady Antebellum's hit single 'Need You Now'.
Would have been interesting to see Blake stepping out of his comfort zone for once, and trying out something more pop (maybe 'La Tortura'? lol, kidding), but whatever. Singing 'Need You Now' was definitely a challenge for Shakira, but all in all, I think she held her own pretty nicely. It wasn't excellent, but her vocals, the blend with Blake's, and the whole instrumentation created a beautiful thing. I'm sure Lady Antebellum will approve!
