Unbelievable: Tinashe’s “Joyride” Album “Hopefully” Out In 2017.
Tinashe shouldn’t play with our feelings.
“Hopefully” is not the word she should be using, unless she really wants to hurt our hearts on purpose.
The R&B songstress in a recent interview with UK newspaper The Guardian talked about the status of her much-delayed second studio album “Joyride”. You know, the album that was supposed to come out in 2015 but that’s been pushed back by RCA Records so many times I’ve literally lost the official count. In 2016, Tinashe released the mixtape “Nightride” as an "I'm sorry" gift to fans.
On the frustration about the delays:
“Things haven’t always gone according to my original plan,” she said of the delays, “but that’s life, and things change.”
On the rumor of almost losing the “Joyride” title track to Rihanna:
Elsewhere in the interview Tinashe confirmed a rumor that Joyride's title track was briefly taken off her for inclusion on Rihanna's Anti. “Yeah, that’s true,” she said. “But I don’t know if it was personally Rihanna, like, ‘I’m taking that from Tinashe.’ I don’t think that’s how it worked. But it’s back now.”
On the actual status of the album:
“It’s not like it’s sitting in a vault locked up, it’s always getting better and improving. I plan on doing a solid few more months recording then hopefully getting it out this year.”
“Hopefully this year”? Really? Don’t play with us, Tinashe. Don’t say things like that unless you are 100% sure. I beg you. That “hopefully” sounds more like 2018 than 2017 to me.
Us fans have been very patient but that patience is about to reach its limit. Tinashe, either go on strike against RCA Records or just end your contract with them somehow. This is really getting ridiculous. And why keep on recording more material at the studio? Isn't that actually offensive for Tinashe? The album was already finished, the album that SHE wanted to make, and now RCA is forcing her to back to the studio indefinitely until she comes up with material of THEIR liking. That's completely offensive. And this has been going on since 2015.
I'll try to extend my patience limit a little more. Just look at this talent...
