Sia Updates Profile On Social Accounts With New Photo, Confirms New Single "Alive" Arrives This Thursday, September 24th! [Updated With Official Cover & Snippet!]
Expect Sia's seventh studio album, which she confirmed to be titled "This Is Acting" in a recent interview with NME, to come out before 2015 ends because the lead single is being released this coming Friday, September 25th! For the Australian singer updated the profile photos on all of her social accounts today, and they now feature the same image of a black and white silhouette of her head with only her signature bob wig showing and the date 9.25.2015 written below.
Sia's new single has been announced to called "Alive", and it's a song that she wrote for Adele's next album but that was rejected in the last minute. In fact, the entirety of Sia's "This Is Acting" LP follows this same "rejected" pattern. All of the songs included in it will be songs that Sia wrote for other artists that unfortunately didn't make the final cut; therefore were officially "refused", and Sia could reclaim the rights to them. And instead of trying to sell them again, she recorded final versions of them with her voice and made an album. This explains the title of "This Is Acting" too. "It’s like play-acting", Sia said about the album's "concept" in the NME interview. Sia will be singing these songs bearing in mind the artists for which she wrote them.
