OneRepublic Cover George Ezra's "Budapest" on BBC "Live Lounge"

onerepublic live lounge

OneRepublic made their second “Live Lounge” appearance in less than a year at midday today (Tuesday, Oct. 20th)! Ryan Tedder and Co. stopped by the Fearne Cotton-hosted BBC Radio 1 show last December (only 10 months ago) and they are already back! Back then they were in the UK to promote “Counting Stars” and now they are to plug their latest UK single, “Love Runs Out”.

So the first song they performed acoustically today on the "Live Lounge" was, yes, “Love Runs Out” and Ryan sang it incredibly well. They should've done "I Lived" instead - in my humble opinion - but if “Love Runs Out” is still “fresh” in the UK then I guess I have to deal with it. The second song OneRepublic performed in acoustic mode was their “mystery cover” which was unveiled to be George Ezra’s “Budapest”. The folk/blues song by the British singer has been a huge hit in Europe this year. In the UK alone, “Budapest” has sold over 600,000 digital downloads to date. Huge! Ryan Tedder wanted to show some respect to George Ezra and show too he’s a fan of his by covering the brilliant “Budapest”. And a brilliant cover he did! Hear it for yourself below!!
