Nick Jonas Previews New Single "Under You" LIVE at 2015 iHeartRadio Summit: Watch Video
Who previewed new music at Day 1 of the semi-annual iHeartRadio Summit last night, August 4th, in Burbank, California? Nick Jonas did!
Day 1 of the Summit was all about Universal Music Group, a company that Nick Jonas belongs to, as Island Records is a label of said music corporation.
At this Summit, labels talk about their future releases, the achievements reached in the last year and, of course, the state of the music industry too. However, there’s also room for ‘impromptu’ live performances here and there. This is an invitation-only event, so people in the venue are either experts in the business or have great influence in it (radio programmers, for instance) so giving them ‘treats’ in the form of first-time performances of new singles is worth it because the result may be: a) they’ll give you feedback before the single is officially out, making you have time to make last-minute tweaks or b) you can get the radio people to fall in love with your new song ‘pronto’ and get immediate massive airplay. So this is definitely a win-win situation for the artist.
Nick Jonas did this last night. He previewed his new single titled “Under You”, rumored to have been written by Bebe Rexha and produced by Max Martin, that is undoubtedly going to be part of an upcoming re-release of his debut solo album “Nick Jonas”. Right after his 2015 iHeartRadio Summit Day 1 performance, Nick Jonas took to Twitter to announce “Big things coming…stay tuned”. So definitely expect "Under You" to drop before the end of the month!!!
The Summit attendee who recorded the sneaky video below, where a few seconds of the “Under You” performance can be watched, described the R&B-esque song as: “silly lyrics, serious singing”. But isn’t that the formula of a successful song? Lol. Anyway, “Under You” sounds reaaaally good! Can’t wait to hear it. I think the worthy successor of "Jealous" has finally been found.
