New Song: John Legend (feat. Rick Ross) - 'Who Do We Think We Are'

Listen now to John Legend's brand new single "Who Do We Think We Are", the first official offering from his upcoming album "Love In The Future" due in 2013.

The Grammy award winning singer-songwriter samples Jean Knight‘s classic "Mr Big Stuff" on his new soulful ballad single, which also boasts a verse by Maybach Music Group boss, rapper Rick Ross. Well, I'm a fan of John, he's a great talent, and almost always produces great music, but this "Who Do We Think We Are" song simply isn't good 'first single' material. Although I kind of enjoyed Legend's soulful vocals throughout the whole of it, and the vintage, classic beat, I couldn't help but yawn from time to time. "Who Do We Think We Are" might struck as 'wow, this is great quality music' at first, but I'm sure later, it'll fall into oblivion. Also, the Rick Ross verse adds pretty much nothing to the song.

I liked his vibe in "Tonight (Best You Ever Had)" (feat. Ludacris) from the 'Think Like a Man' soundtrack last year, so why couldn't he follow that kinda-catchy R&B path for the new 'studio' era?. I truly hope he's got a few aces hidden in "Love In The Future" and "Who Do We Think We Are" is just a forgettable 'commercial' mistake (it'll be a miracle if it charts somewhere). "Love In The Future" is executive produced by Kanye West and Dave Tozer.

Is this a strong first single?
